Comments

A massive black eagle (length of female, 38") with a white V around the upper back. It lives in rocky mountainous country from 900-3500 m, near inaccessible cliff nesting sites where its main prey, Rock Hyrax, lives. This mammal weighing 4-12 lb needs rock outcrops with numerous cavities big enough to admit it while excluding most of its predators..
